Program Coordinator
Writers’ Guild of Alberta, Edmonton
The Writers’ Guild of Alberta (WGA) is looking for an individual with strong organizational, communication and administrative skills for a shared program coordinator position in the WGA Edmonton office. This is a job share* two day (Wednesday, Friday) a week position.
The program coordinator position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of WGA programs, including but not restricted to monthly WGA Edmonton events, the WGA mentorship program, the Alberta Literary Awards, conferences and AGM, outreach programs, as well as developing new programs and services to meet the needs of the membership.
The successful candidate will be a strategic planner, meeting short-term commitments while remaining focused on a larger, long-term vision. Knowledge of the literary community, good writing skills as well as organizational, problem-solving, communication, team work and collaborative skills are essential. Familiarity with budget and office practices is desirable.
This is a job-share position at 14 hours/week.
*”Job sharing” is a work arrangement whereby the duties and responsibilities of a full-time position are shared by two part-time employees. Each employee may be responsible for the whole job and all of its tasks, or alternatively, some projects or tasks may be assigned independently. By definition, for a job to be shared, both employees are accountable for the majority of its responsibilities
