Biography

Virginia was born in England,and emigrated to Calgary,Canada in 1974.After a career in media and public relations in England and Calgary ,following obtaining a History BA at london University in the 60's , Virginia attended University Of Calgary Law School .

She graduated in 1980 and practiced very successfully as a Civil litigator in Calgary until 2007 ,when she retired from practice following heart surgery. She has retrained as a Mediator,mentors Law students , and has taught. She has three adult children ,three step children and six grandchildren and a wonderful Canadian husband .They spend a lot of time at their home on the lake in Central Okanagan. There she rediscovered her painting love and regularly exhibits with art groups and sells and donates her work. She self published her first childrens's book in 2012 ,The Chickens of Sixth Street ,and continues to sell copies through her art shows.In 2015 Bayeux Arts Publishing in Calgary published her book Matterhorn- Mountain Summer Memoir ,now on Amazon and selected for the Banff Centre Mountain Book festival in November.

Experience

Trained as a professional writer in PR ,advertising and in Law.

Was a script writer for Access TV in the 70's ,wrote a 22 part program for women, 'Finding my own way". Wrote the handout that went with it. Wrote all the PR material Southampton college of technology ,England. Wrote numerous articles and legal briefs over 30 year legal career. Taught at the law school.
