Biography | Catherine Dussault has always been fascinated by words and the stories they tell. After she received her bachelor degree in Literature from Laval University, in Qubec, which included a year abroad as a Modern Literature student in Caen, Normandy, and after visiting several countries whenever she could get the chance to travel, she opted for a Master degree in Translation studies, at University of Montral. Her academic training done, she quickly discovered the pleasures and challenges of her profession, a job she has been doing for ten years. After working for a administrative tribunal, Catherine decided to take up new challenges, returning among other things to her very first love, novels. With the support of a small editor from Alberta, Tyche Books, she has translated short stories and a science-fiction novel. Tyche and Catherine are currently planning her next project, a ghost story filled with suspense. As a certified translator and a member of the Association of translators and interpreters of Alberta (ATIA), of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) and an associate member of the Literary Translators Association of Canada (LTAC), she dedicates herself with passion to help her clients bridge the gap linguistic differences can sometimes become. |
