Biography | I was born and raised in Ossining, New York, a suburb of New York City. I attended Northeastern University, in Boston, where I earned my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education Degrees. I moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, in 1976 where I lived with (my now deceased) husband until 2001. I moved to Sherwood Park and do not intend to relocate. I taught elementary school for 31 years, starting my career in Boston, Massachusetts, for the first 4 years, and then continuing in Fort Saskatchewan, for another 27 years. After retiring from teaching in 2003, I worked at Chapters in the Sherwood Park Mall, for 10 years. My love of reading and the written word inspired me to become an author of 4 books for children aged 10 _ 16. I am currently working on a memoir as well as writing my blog. My intent is to eventually create a book of essays that will include those from my blog: www.lustywench.org NOPE, this has nothing to do what you might think it does. I am the Secretary of the Board of Directors at the condo where I am now living. This position has broadened the scope my writing to include newsletters and contract writing. I have done some business writing as well. . Reading, writing and learning are my passions. |
Publications | I have self-published four novels for children and young adults. 'What a Year' is available on Amazon as both an ebook and in paperback. It is also available from Indigo.ca . 'Island of Dreams', 'I Can Hear You Now' and 'Broken Crystal' are available as ebooks on Amazon. I have had two of my poems published in calendars produced by The Writers Foundation of Strathcona, in 2006 and 2007. I have numerous poems published on the Hudson Valley Painters and Poets Facebook group. |
Experience | I was a guest lecturer at the State University of New York Stony Brook in 1985, where I spoke about creative writing. I also gave a presentation about the process and experience of self-publishing, for the Writers Foundation of Strathcona in 2005. It could have been 2006. My memory is not as good as it once was. I have also done some freelance editing and writing over the last ten years. |
