Biography | Spinner of tales. Author of Weaving a Malawi Sunrise. Born 320ppm CO2. Roberta Laurie completed her Masterês degree in Environmental Education and Communication at Royal Roads University; her thesis explored the framing of –ethical oil.” She is the author of Weaving a Malawi Sunrise: A Woman, a School, a People. Her academic writing appears in The Sustainability Communication Reader and The Rhetoric of Oil in the 21st Century. Currently she is writing a memoir that explores the letters and legacy left by her father. She has contributed to numerous anthologies ã Chicken Soup for the Soul and others ã and periodicals including On Spec, WestWord and fillingStation. She edits fiction, creative nonfiction, and academic articles. Her blog, creativewhispersblog.wordpress.com, focuses on her writing and passion for environmental issues. Roberta is an instructor in the Bachelor of Communications Studies program at MacEwan University where she teaches sustainability communications, creative nonfiction, grammar, and editing. |
