Biography | Steven Ross Smith is a poet, sound poet, prose writer and arts journalist. He is the current Banff Poet Laureate. His latest poetry book is "Emanations: Fluttertongue 6". Experience | In 1996-97 he was Writer-In-Residence at the Saskatoon Public Library. He is also a founding editor with Underwhich Editions, and was Executive Director of the Sage Hill Writing Experience from 1990-2008. He has given more than 200 readings from his own work. He served as Director of Literary Arts at The Banff Centre, 2008-2014. In 2014 he returned to his own writing practice, focusing on poetry, fiction, essays, and arts and literary journalism. Smith has performed and/or been published in England, Holland, Russia, Portugal, the USA, and in Canada. |
