Biography | Shenaaz grew up in a fusion of cultures in Mombasa in East Africa and lives in Calgary. She believes that words have power to change lives. She holds an M.F.A in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. Her publications include 13 award-winning books for children of all ages including Child of Dandelions, a finalist for the Governor General. She likes to think of herself as a squid who lives under the sea but surfaces occasionally to read and write. Lover of water, laughter, and singing in the shower, she has been chased by a monkey, almost fed a giraffe, and has swum with stingrays. |
