Biography | Susan Ouriou has published two works of fiction, Damselfish, an adult novel which was shortlisted for 2 awards and Nathan, a young adult novel that was published in 2016. One of her short stories won the Western Canadian Magazine Association fiction award and a few of her short stories have been translated into French and Spanish (one even into Bulgarian). She was the winner of the Governor General's Award for Literary Translation in 2009 and has published over 30 translations from French and Spanish. She edited the anthologies Beyond Words – Translating the World as well as Languages of Our Land – Indigenous Poems and Stories from Quebec and was the founding editor of TransLit. She was appointed Chevalier in France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2012. |
