Biography

Wayne Arthurson is an award-winning indigenous writer, the author of six novels and five books of non-fiction. Wayne is the author of the bestselling Leo Desroches crime series: Fall From Grace, which won the $10,000 Alberta Readers Choice Award, A Killing Winter and Blood Red Summer, named one of the top 10 crime novels in 2017 by the Globe and Mail. Along with being a bestselling novelist, Wayne has over 30 years professional writing experience and has been a reporter, editor, advertising copywriter, ghostwriter, husband and stay-at-home dad. Wayne is also an excellent speaker, using oral storytelling techniques and self-deprecating humour interspersed with readings to entertain and inspire audiences. His talks examine themes of creativity, inspiration, persistence, resilience, history, family, cultural entrepreneurship and literary culture.
