| Biography | My name is Cody and I've always been passionate about the arts and I've always loved stories. It was always my dream to be a storyteller, but many of lifes pressures veered me onto a different path. I have now reached a point in my life where I want to forge a new path and finally share my stories with the world. I'm slowly becoming more associated with the Edmonton writers community and it would be an amazing experience to attend the upcoming conference to learn from some of the greats and be inspired by them. All story mediums are exciting to me. I first wanted to be a writer after reading "The Crystal Shard," by R.A. Salvatore. The first stories that grabbed my attention however were found in the pages of comic books and they are still very much my first and great love. While I certainly have a novel or two in my brain, my greatest dream is to write for the graphic story telling medium. In addition to studying technical theatre, was in the Motion Picture Arts Program at Red Deer College and writing a screenplay would also be very satisfying. The path I took for the past several years was that of a theatre technician. This has placed me close to the arts and a great many stories while still appeasing the expecations of peers and family members by being "a real job." While I have had many great experiences in this position, after many years of supporting others in expressing their art, I believe I have done all I can in the role and I wish to tell my own stories. |
