Biography

DIANNE PALOVCIK

Dianne is a graduate of Acadia University and completed post-graduate training with the University of Alberta and University of San Francisco.

Dianne spent 20 years of her professional career in human services managing programs, human resources and staff development. During that time, she co-authored a competency-based provincial training course for human service workers in Alberta.

As a travel agent for eighteen years, Dianne visited numerous countries around the globe.

Dianne began her writing career eight years after retirement when she challenged herself to write a novel. She writes historical fiction related to events or conditions in Canadian history, bringing it to life with strong story lines, relatable characters and detailed settings.

Dianne's debut novel, In Trouble is disturbing and illuminating fiction, a story of unwed mothers and forced adoption in Canada.

She was one of twenty writers recognized by the Writers Guild of Alberta in 2020 with an in-depth video interview of the author and her work.

Dianne's current novel, Not All Widows Wear Black weaves an 1890's story fuelled by revenge, deceit, fraud and murder.

When not writing, Dianne enjoys time with family and friends and plays golf badly.
