Biography | David is a a playwright and theatre artist, and occasionally veers into filmmaking and other writing forms. He specializes in plays based on real events and primary sources, especially in Alberta history. His plays include: Letters from Battle River (with Karen Simonson), Respecting the Action for Seduction, Gut, Bible Bill: The Gospel Musical, Invisible Child: Leilani Muir and the Alberta Eugenics Board (with Leilani O'Malley and LM Morin), The Great Whorehouse Fire of 1921 (with Linda Wood Edwards) and Camping (with Sophia Cheoros). He is also an arts management professional, and currently works with the Edmonton Arts Council. He has been festival director of the Edmonton Fringe, co-producer of the Comedy Arts Festival, executive director of the Film and Video Arts Society – Alberta, general manager of Theatre Network, festival producer of LitFest and executive director at Metro Cinema. |
