Biography | Candice Jones is a Caribbean Canadian author and accomplished gospel jazz saxophonist who loves to express her creativity in a variety of ways, including writing, visual arts, and music. She was born and raised in Montreal, QC, Canada in a Trinidadian home filled with music, fried bakes, salt fish, ginger beer, and, her personal favourite, sorrel. Her love for music and art manifested itself at a young age while her love for travel evolved from a high school graduation trip to Europe at age seventeen. Her ambition to complete her undergraduate studies in western Canada was due, in part, to her eagerness to explore that part of this great multicultural nation. Candice holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Health and Wilderness Studies from Burman University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Vancouver Island University. She is currently getting her degree in Education and is the Burman University Illustrator.
Friends describe Candice as a kind, gentle, caring person who enjoys working with others, especially children. She is amazingly versatile and eagerly embraces whatever challenge life throws at her. For those particularly difficult challenges, her creativity provides a means to heal and flourish from within.
