Biography | Kumares Majumdar is a passionate Canadian fiction novel, short story, and science writer. He is also equally eloquent in vernacular Indian Bengali.
A veteran engineer by profession with more than four decades of work experience, he lived and worked in the UK, the USA, Canada, the middle-east, Africa, and Europe, besides his native country, India. Each place he called his dear home. During that time, he came across people of different faiths, cultures, sub-cultures, and societies, geographical and political boundaries, which enriched his treasure trove of experience. He has interests in art, literature, history, nature study, and stewardship of the future world.
He sees the world through the hard-analytical outlook of an engineer, and at the same time, never lacks the characteristic softness and sensitivity of a true writer-artist. Humans, machines, nature, animals, plants, and everything else on earth, draw his attention all the time and find expression in his writings. His works contain captivating anecdotes of love, hate, terrors, crimes, deceits, and menês responsibilities to animals, nature, and the environment.
One of his favourite literary experiments is the smooth blending of science and technology with literature and art, making it attractive to all people of our society, both technical and non-technical. He advocates for renewable energy, reducing GHG and toxic gas emissions, replacing fossil fuels with carbon-neutral fuels, fuel cells, water conservation, and pollution abatement. He encourages the general masses to familiarize themselves with scientific principles and apply them in daily life.
He also has to his credit a good number of technical and non-technical papers published and presented in reputed international journals and forums.
