The heart of writing is sharing your work, but the art of providing substantive feedback requires its own special skill. It takes literary manners because everyone is equal in the writer’s circle. Join us for a workshop focusing on the process of providing substantive feedback to fellow writers. Learn the decorum, the manners, and the art of being critical. Be prepared to listen, write, and engage in the time-honored skill of substantive feedback. With Shawn Hamm.

About the Facilitator
Shawn Hamm is an English instructor at MacEwan University, a tutor through the kihêw waciston Indigenous Centre, a writer, a Gothicist, and grave keeper. He has run countless writing workshops over the years through The Bolo Tie collective and is a fierce supporter of the Edmonton writing community. His research background in Gothic Mad Science of the Long 19th century, has fed his love of writing gothic folk horror and science fiction, often Frankensteining elements of both into his own work. Shawn has recently unearthed the ethereal genre of non-fiction, entirely inspired by his work amongst the graves. Though much of his writing revolves around our relationship with death, he much prefers the living.
