For the past four months, five emerging writers from different parts of Alberta have been working with established writers in the WGA’s annual mentorship program. These ten writers have met, talked on the phone, sent drafts back and forth, and gotten to know each other a little bit as the apprentices prepare their work to reach a larger audience.
To that end, we cordially invite you to join us for a celebratory event, Five New Alberta Voices, which will be held at Robertson-Wesley United Church, 10209 123 Street, in Edmonton on Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 pm. Apprentices will be introduced by their mentors and will read from their work. This event is free, and refreshments will be served. We would love to see you there!
Featured readers include: Kim Mannix, Bruce Cinnamon, Shannon Cleary, Susan Carpenter, and Katherine Koller.
