Sharon Lynne Henderson Memorial Fund

This fund is created in memory of Sharon Henderson, in recognition of her life-long love of, and advocacy for, Canadian literature. Donations to this fund will be directed to a literary award in her name that will be presented in perpetuity, in support of young or emerging Alberta writers.

Sharon Henderson beloved wife of Randy Scott Henderson of Calgary, AB, passed away on April 14, 2018 at the age of 74 years.

Sharon lived in Calgary all of her adult life and was an active member of the Unitarian Church of Calgary, Hikers Unanimous and the Doris Govier Canadian Literature Group.

Besides her loving husband, Randy, Sharon is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan and Andy, Steven and Laura, Karen and Bill, and Heather and Mike; her beautiful granddaughters, Marin, Jasmine, Amber, Natalie, and Wren. She was also survived by her brother and his spouse Dennis and Shelly Ericson of Wetaskiwin; step brothers and their spouses, Fred Chambers and Connie Chambers, Larry Chambers and Ardist Chambers, Alvin Chambers, Richard Chambers and Marie Chambers; as well as her step brother-in-law Lorne Hagstrom.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Vera and Bill Chambers and her step-sister Dollie Hagstrom and Lyle Chambers of Vernon, BC.

In living memory of Sharon Henderson, a tree was planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells
