On behalf of the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta, we are pleased to announce the participants and mentors for the 2019 Borderlines Writers Circle Calgary. The Writers Circle is made possible through the generous support of the Calgary Foundation.
The Borderlines Writers Circle is an initiative that aims to serve writers from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds who live in Calgary and are not yet connected to the local writing community. The program is designed to yield new literary works, explore the immigrant experience, and initiate dialogue that celebrates our diversity and contributes to a deeper understanding of one another. Programming includes mentorship, workshops, discussions, networking, public reading opportunities, and more.
Please welcome Cecilia Alcaraz, Moni Brar, Kelly Kaur, Precious de Leon, Debra Piapot and Sherry Wong as they pursue their literary goals and engage in the Calgary arts community with the support from their mentors, Olyn Ozbick, Vivian Hansen, Aritha van Herk, Pamela Clark, Kim McCullough and Sandra McIntyre.
