Zoe Hawnt, composer, musician, performer, and multi-disciplinary creator, has recently added emerging playwright to her repertoire. Up next is The Unpacked Suitcase, which includes the monologue Flag Girls, @stagestruckyeg festival; Nerina and the Sea Sprite will be presented at Holy Trinity Church as part of @edmontonfringe Fringe Theatre Adventures. Ophelia Exits by Rea Tarvydas
Rea Tarvydas lives in Edmonton, Alberta. Her stories can be read in various literary magazines across Canada, most recently The New Quarterly (2023).Tarvydas’ debut book of short stories, How to Pick up a Maid in Statue Square, was published by Thistledown Press (2016), and long-listed for the 2017 ReLit Award.
Hats and Gloves, Hard Work and Dreams by Maureen Rooney
Maureen Rooney and her partner Paul Punyi run Rooney & Punyi Productions (recipients of the 2013 St Albert Mayor’s Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award). They have two wonderful sons, Matthew & Jeff. Paul and Maureen continue to bring theatre to schools and music to senior’s residences. Maureen’s recent acting credits include: Morningside Road at Shadow, The Full Monty at Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Improv with Die-Nasty every Monday, as well as four films: Meet Me at The Christmas Train Parade, Soul’s Road, Bad Orphan, and Making Beauty. Maureen will be playing Marjorie in Marjorie Prime with Trunk Theatre next month at the Varscona. Still Alive by Michelle Todd
Michelle Todd has performed other’s work at Script Salon and is so pleased to join the “other side of the table” for International Women’s Day. An Edmonton native and recipient of Theatre Alberta’s Michelle Dias Community Award, Michelle has been active in the arts community for many years. A graduate of MacEwan’s Theatre Arts program, Michelle has written Kuya and Deep Fried Curried Perogies, and her latest piece Hoodies was written for Concrete Theatre’s Anti-Racism and Change project for Theatre for Young Audiences. Michelle’s acting credits include; Ms. Pat’s Kitchen (SkirtsAfire and Black Arts Hub), After the Trojan Women (Common Ground Arts Society), Tiny Beautiful Things (Shadow Theatre), Black Widow Gun Club (Whizgiggling Productions), and Carole of the Belles, Mass Debating (100% More Girls).
Trail and Error by Linda Wood Edwards
Linda Wood Edwards’ plays have been to Australia, Washington DC, Yukon, Victoria, Saskatchewan, and across Alberta. Linda has two Sterling nominations (Spring Alibi, 2005; Trail and Error, 2016), two tours (Never Let the Crew See You Cry, 2014; Four in the Crib, 2013/2018), accolades for 10-minute plays (Walk of Shame, 2023; Gibberish v. Genius, 2018; Almost the Pioneer Brewing Company, 2018), and a professional production (The Great Whorehouse Fire of 1921 with David Cheoros, 2021 Northern Light Theatre). Linda is also a governance nerd, funeral celebrant, beer judge in training, and devoted fan of the CFL. She thanks Script Salon for holding space for our plays.

Heather D. Swain has been a working artist since the late 1900s, as a classically trained actor, writer, director, and street performer. She uses humour and wit to turn things on their edge, discovering hidden gems of a phrase or character, inviting audiences to see the world in a way they may not have thought of before and yet was sitting there in plain view all the time.
With Woman by Pamela Schmunk
Pamela Schmunk is an actor, director, teacher and baby playwright. She derives joy from yoga, choir, travel, and her family.
Having lived in Southeast Asia, Pam is deeply interested in the intersecting experiences of women across cultures. Recent acting projects include a variety of short films: The Red in Her Eyes (FAVA); Two Cups of Mom (Nadine Hunt); and Quinonia (Katie Cutting). Pam’s screenplay, By Grace Go I, is being produced by Sarah Uwadie. An excerpt of her play, Soul Search, was featured at WWPT’s Springboards Cabaret 2025. Pam is very grateful to Conni Massing and Patricia Darbasie, who have supported her in the development of Soul Search, which will be read at Script Salon in June.
Splattered! by Lily Davies
Lily Davies is an emerging writer and actor. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2024 with a BFA in Acting and was one of the winners of the 2025 EdmonTEN playwriting competition. When she is not writing or acting, she can be found working at Fringe Theatre.
The Night Travelling Star by Hengameh E. Rice
Hengameh E Rice are a writing duo, with Hengameh born in Shiraz, Iran, and Rice in Edmonton, Alberta. Their debut play, Anahita’s Republic, was read at Script Salon in February 2020 and had its world première in Toronto in March 2023 and in Edmonton in May 2023, earning two Dora and three Sterling nominations, including outstanding new play and production. Their next play, The Night Travelling Star, grapples with the following questions: How does change happen, what does it cost us and what must we give up for it?
Older, Wiser and Hotter by Sue Huff
Sue Huff is an actor, writer, director who loves working with people who are curious, big-hearted, and smart — like all the women on stage tonight. Sue just completed acting in the film, Retire, you B**ch! and is looking forward to performing in Marjorie Prime, directed by Amy DeFelice (April 9 – 19, Varscona Theatre). This summer, Sue is hoping to direct/produce her screenplay, Midnight Cry, which features an all-female cast. To all the wonderful women who help communities thrive, families survive, keep the arts alive: thank you!!
