In acknowledgement of FREEDOM TO READ WEEK and in celebration of our FREEDOM TO WRITE, join author and WGA Program Director (YYC) Samantha Warwick for a guided discussion of two select titles: Julia Cameron’s THE RIGHT TO WRITE (paired with a smooth red Primitivo) and Russell Wangersky’s THE PATH OF MOST RESISTANCE (paired with a rich, satisfying porter). Coffee, tea and light snacks will also be served.
JULIA CAMERON shows us how to make writing a natural part of our lives – free of self-censorship and guilt, while sharing techniques and secrets on creative process. An inspiring and practical book for writers at all stages to read (or re-read) in order to charge and re-centre a strong and resilient commitment to creative writing.
The stories in THE PATH OF MOST RESISTANCE by RUSSELL WANGERSKY are sure to spark lively conversation and debate, offering juicy fodder on myriad topics including The Unsympathetic Character in fiction. This short collection is anchored by the concept of passive aggression in our everyday lives and follows ordinary people who are quietly, desperately, and indirectly trying to impose their will on the uncaring world around them. Brilliant!
**PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THESE TWO TITLES BEFORE THE EVENT ON FEBRUARY 28.
