Corinne Cowan has published her memoir, Go Quietly Now (Tellwell Publishing). As a member of the online Vocal Cord Paralysis Group, she was inspired to write about the disability that afflicts thousands of individuals, but escapes being described by them. On looking back over her twenty years with vc paralysis, she reflects on the changes it made in her life. After learning to adopt coping mechanisms tailored to her specific needs, she became more accepting of the disability. This acceptance led to a more tranquil lifestyle and an appreciation of the quiet time it afforded. In that quiet time, she developed new perceptions and beliefs that brought her greater awareness and affirmed her faith.
