About the Feature: Gee is a poet from the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose journey began in an Ugandan refugee camp.
Her work explores her struggle for identity between African and French cultures, focusing on themes of belonging, self-love, and mental health.
Inspired by nature and the night sky, she began writing poetry at 12 and became active in Calgary’s art community through open mic and slam events. She aspires to further her art with her future poetry book.
