Our November featured reader is the hilarious Frank O’Keeffe.
About the Featured Reader
In 1959, Frank O’Keeffe emigrated to Calgary from Dublin, Ireland. He had already earned his first income there as a writer, winning a sixpence prize for a short story he wrote in grade four. Whether working in the insurance business and writing humorous skits for the Christmas parties, as a teacher/librarian penning concert performances for his class, or authoring newsletter and newspaper columns, writing has always been part of Frank’s life. After the successful publication of his first young adult book, he retired from full-time teaching in 1989 to focus on writing and doing readings and workshops in schools and at conventions across Canada. He is the author of nine children’s/young adult novels as well as four novels for adults, including his upcoming memoir, Paddy & Me.
