Monday Write Nights at EPL

We are thrilled to partner with Edmonton Public Library and Capital City Press for a series of upcoming Monday Write Nights.

Drop-in and join us Monday nights at a different EPL branch.

Join us this fall as we continue our free drop-in writing nights. Meet and chat with other writers, learn about WGA and EPL programs, or just get some work done. Write Nights are here to provide support and a space to write. Our upcoming schedule is:

    • Oct 7 – Capilano

*Special Monday Write Night with Capital City Press*

Monday, October 7. Capilano EPL Branch 7-9pm

      7pm. Wendy McGrath
      Mini-workshop: The Images Inside

Michelangelo ‘freed’ his sculptures from stone and, like Michelangelo, a writer finds inspiration freeing ‘the images inside’ objects, other works of art, events, and…themselves. Wendy McGrath will lead participants on an exploration of how images drive our writing and how text and image can work together.

      8pm. Rayanne Haines

Your First Thirty Pages: What Agents and Publishers Look For

In this forty-five minute talk, Rayanne Haines will guide you through the most important things Agents and Publishers are looking for in a manuscript and how to make sure your work shines in the first 10, 20, and 30 pages. We’ll talk about some rules (Hint: there’s only one that matters), knowing where to start your story and the all-important role of empathy.

    • Oct 14 – Closed for Thanksgiving
    • Nov 11 – Closed for Remembrance Day

The full schedule of write night sessions are available on our website events calendar and through EPL’s events: https://epl.bibliocommons.com/events/search/q=write%20nights
