Digital Strategies Project: Announcing Regional Meetings

We recently completed the first phase of our Digital Strategies initiative, a weekend workshop for a small number of representatives of various Alberta regions to explore how we can help writers in the Digital Ages. The representatives are now hosting regional meetings to share the workshop outcomes, collect feedback, and allow as many writers as possible to have their say on the three main concerns for Alberta writers in the Digital Age: copyright, social media, and internet access for rural regions.

Please see below for the dates, times, and locations of the regional meetings. Writers are welcome to attend any meeting that is most convenient for their location. We want to encourage writers in rural locales to attend, and a limited amount of travel assistance is available from the WGA on request. Please let us know if you wish to attend a meeting but need help.

The document detailing the outcomes of the workshop is available to download here if you wish to review the information before attending the meeting.

If you are new to the WGA and need more background on our Digital Strategies initiative, more information is available here.

If travel is prohibitive, please feel free to contact a representative listed below to see if web or teleconferencing options are available, or you may send feedback on the outcomes document by email.
