Free. No registration required. Open to members of WGA and/or AWCS. Street parking is free after 6PM, and the brewery is a 7-minute walk from 4th street c-train station.

There will be a feature performance by Priscille Bukasa, followed by a Black artists literary open mic – where Black writers can sign up to read or folks can read their favourite works by Black writers. There will be a limit of 8 spots of 3 minutes each.

About the Featured Performer

Priscille Bukasa, a Calgary-based spoken word artist and writer, draws inspiration from her roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo, infusing her work with the richness of her upbringing and culture. With over 15 years of captivating performances, Priscille’s dynamic presence has graced diverse stages, from conferences to marketing campaigns. As a teaching artist, she leads poetry workshops across all grade levels and serves as an art facilitator at Werklund Centre ( Formerly known as Arts Commons). Priscille is also a former member of the Cultural Instigator, supporting artists in fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion through impactful projects confronting social issues.
