This year marks the 75th anniversary of W.O. Mitchell’s outstanding Canadian prairie classic, Who Has Seen the Wind. Mitchell has influenced generations of writers and has had a lasting impact in Calgary. The city’s annual book prize is named after him, as is a school!
To celebrate W.O.’s legacy, Freehand Books is launching the anniversary edition of Who Has Seen the Wind in gorgeous hardcover, bringing together the full text and the stunning illustrations by William Kurelek for the first time in over twenty years.
Join Freehand Books and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta as we usher this new edition and W.O. Mitchell’s influence forward to a new generation.
Celebrated Canadian author Sharon Butala will be paying tribute to W.O.’s life and impact on fellow writers.
A special announcement will be made about a W.O. Mitchell endowment fund to ensure writers will continue to be held up and supported by his legacy.
