The WGA is calling on our community to back a bursary today!
WordsWorth 2026: Mythsmiths takes place over two weeks this July at Red Deer Polytechnic.
Week 1: July 19-24, 2026 (Ages 11-14)
Week 2: July 26-31, 2026 (Ages 15-19)
Each year the WGA offers partial or full bursaries to reduce the cost of registration to send youth to WordsWorth, our screen-free 5-day sleepaway camp for writers (ages 11 to 19), taking place this summer at Red Deer Polytechnic. This year camp costs $725.00 per camper.
Requests for bursaries are higher than ever! The WGA offers bursaries between $150 to $500 of of the registration price on a first-come first-serve basis. Many of our campers request partial bursaries, meaning even a small donation can be the deciding factor in getting a camper to WordsWorth.
Our fundraising goal is $4000.
All donation amounts are appreciated, and tax receipts are available through our CanadaHelps campaign page as well as through our website.
