Between the ages of eighteen and sixty, Kimmy Beach has travelled to Liverpool, UK eight times. It’s the city of her soul and has been her entire adult life. Her sister suggested she write a book about it. And since Kimmy always does what her sister says, she wrote one.

Kimmy will read several essays from her new memoir about growing old in a city where she doesn’t live. Her reading will be followed by a no-holds-barred question and answer session about writing, the writing and publishing life, or anything else writing-related that you want to ask her. She doesn’t know it all, but she knows a lot.

Kimmy has served as writer in residence for the WGA, the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Airdrie Public Library, the Parkland Regional Library, and The Trickster and the Muse (Crete, Greece). She has six books in print and another five on her desktop. Kimmy writes, edits, and mentors from Red Deer, and travels to Liverpool as much as she can.
