Disentangling the Braided Essay
The “braided essay” is everywhere, it seems. But what is this form? And how could you go about constructing it? This workshop will help untangle this form from other kinds of creative non-fiction and give you some pointers to help you plait your own.
About the Facilitator: The workshop is led by Alice Major, author of two collections of braided essays: the prizewinning Intersecting Sets: A poet looks at science and the newly released Triangularity: Essays on poetry, science and spirit. She is also the author of 12 poetry collections, and a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Award.
