You can expect light catering, raffle prizes, and readings from aloT of Poetry, Elizabeth Haynes, Jun-long Lee, and Bradley Somer. Hosted by Ashley Frerichs. Members, cover is not required but please (if you can) consider a small donation of $5 to help us offset catering costs. About the Readers

Elizabeth Haynes is a traveler and writer from Calgary. Her short fiction collection, Speak Mandarin not Dialect was an Alberta Book Award finalist. Elizabeth’s first novel The Errant Husband (Radiant Press) was published in 2021. She was the 2023 Writer in Residence at the Calgary Public Library. Her most recent book, Food For the Journey was published in 2025 by Thistledown Press.
aloT of Poetry is a Nigerian-South African poet based in Treaty 7. Her work moves through the ever-evolving experience of being alive: mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally threading tenderness into every line. She invites us to feel more deeply, reflect more honestly, and to lean into the sacred art of listening and understanding.
Jun-long Lee is a poet, visual artist, and filmmaker. Abode (Athabasca University Press) is his first book. His poems have appeared in Contemporary Verse 2, The Malahat Review, Grain, Riddle Fence, Conjunctions, Jubilat, and elsewhere. He is based in Calgary (Moh’kinstsis) on Treaty 7 lands and can be found at www.leafshaped.com
Bradley Somer is the author of four novels, which have been published in over twenty countries, translated into several languages, and produced in many print, digital, and audio editions. A few are even in development for screen. His work was awarded the Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction and he was honoured to receive the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta’s Award for Emerging Artist. His most recent novel is entitled “We Are All of Us Left Behind” and is out now with Freehand Books.
