About the Readers
Katherine Abbass
Katherine Abbass (she/her) is a writer and educator of Lebanese descent. Her work has appeared in literary magazines such as Room, The Malahat Review, yolk, and Funicular. Katherine has been nominated for an Alberta Literary Award (2016), an Alberta Magazine Award (2022), and in 2021, she won Riddle Fence’s Fiction Contest. She works as a conversational designer at Reimagine AI.
Jessica Waite
When life handed Jessica Waite a riveting, horrifying and surprisingly beautiful story, she transformed herself into a writer. Her debut memoir, “The Widow’s Guide to Dead Bastards” (Simon & Schuster Canada) was an instant national bestseller and has been listed as a notable book by The Washington Post, Chatelaine, Canadian Living, Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper, the Toronto Star and many other outlets. Jessica lives with her son and their enormous rescue dog on Treaty 7 territory in the city of Calgary, Alberta.
