The world is full of texts & great writers steal. First, while learning the fundamental techniques of the craft of poetry this course will teach you how to steal like a writer. Secondly, this course will introduce an unlikely tool, the scissors, to your arsenal of writing techniques. Learn how to use found material, cut-ups & collage to create unique works or use these same techniques as a way to enhance your own writing. & never forget: “Cut-ups are for everyone.”

BIO: Paul Zits

Paul Zits received his MA in English from the University of Calgary in 2010 and is the author of Massacre Street (University of Alberta Press, 2013). For the past two years he has served as Writer-in-the-Schools at Queen Elizabeth High School in Calgary, where he has taught Creative Writing to students in the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program.
