“The Green Rose” is a lengthy poetry chapbook, containing an email call-&-response by two accomplished poets – Phil Hall and Steven Ross Smith – undertaken when they each were on opposite coasts of Costa Rica in the winter of 2023. The work – featuring twists and leaps, ventriloquism and nature and pun-cture, and flowing with serious play – is rendered in couplets where the writers’ lines are blended, so the individual author’s hand may or may not be disguised.
