Poetry Flash Mob Challenge for the Edmonton Poetry Festival

Alexis Kienlen, instructor week two and poet, sent me this request and I share it with you.
Dear Poets and Poetry lovers
The Edmonton Poetry Festival begins shortly and we want to build up to a bang for the start of festival week! This year our theme is “Words on a Line”. We are indeed asking you to put it on the line for the festival.
Beginning Thursday April 19th we want to plaster our provinces sidewalks with poetry! And then we want to plaster facebook and twitter with photos of those poems!
Here is the plan:
We are asking all of you (whether you live in Edmonton or not) to write your favorite short poem on your sidewalk for all to see. Then take a photo and post it to your facebook and twitter account. As part of this we ask that you mention the Edmonton Poetry Festival in your post.
Our twitter name is @edmpoetryfest. We even have our own hashtag this year. #pofest12.
We want the festival to go viral this year. Think of this as a province wide, 4 day, poetry photo, flash mob 😉. And if it’s raining, (it’s April after all) then write that poem on a piece of paper, your bathroom mirror, your covered front deck, whatever tickles your creative nerve……..take a photo, post it to your page and tag the poetry festival!
