2015 Federal Election Candidate Survey Results
On behalf of our membership and the greater Edmonton and area professional arts community, PACE asked all fifty of Edmonton’s federal election candidates to publicly state their position on support for arts and culture in Edmonton and across Canada. To date, eight candidates have responded to our survey. We plan to continue to keep you up-to-date on the topic arts and culture in this election with our Arts Vote Toolkit and through social media. In addition, we will be bringing you news on election issues that are important to our membership and the professional arts community, as collected from our Share Your Voice Survey.

News from the Advocacy Committee
On September 30, PACE met with the Honourable David Eggen, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Education to discuss the needs of Edmonton’s arts and culture community in regards to the upcoming provincial budget. We began by stating that PACE very much appreciates the new Minister’s declared intention to re-invest in Alberta Arts and Culture. We welcomed the opportunity to assist the Government of Alberta in providing any insight we can as they endeavour to fulfill this worthwhile objective under very challenging economic circumstances. PACE made the following recommendations for the Minister’s consideration in advance of the government’s inaugural budget:

Grab a beer and a comfy seat a the historic Garneau Theatre for play-by-play coverage of the Federal Election results as the action unfolds on October 19.
