Fiction Class (week two) will be taught by Alexis Kienlen

While Alexis Kienlen decides on the title of her course Elements of fiction or Building blocks of fiction. You can anticipate a-six day long session on plot, character, setting and point of view. She’ll take you right down to the nitty gritty of things that are used to write a fiction piece.

Wait!  who is this instructor?

Alexis Kienlen knew she wanted to be a writer when she was eight years old. And she managed to accomplish that dream. She has published two books of poetry “She dreams in Red” (2007) and “13” (2011). She currently works as an agricultural reporter for “Alberta Farmer”, which means she travels around rural Alberta, visits farmers and writes about them. Her life involves as much reading and writing as she can fit in without becoming a total hermit. When her nose isn’t stuck in a book, she can be found watching movies or good television, or doing something active like bike riding or belly dancing. Alexis is originally from Saskatoon, has lived in a number of cities across Canada and currently lives in Edmonton.

Find out more about her on her website where she writes a blog and lets you know where she can be found reading poetry from her latest book.
