Born in a refugee camp in Kiel, Germany, raised in Montreal, Quebec, Dolly Dennis has called Edmonton home since 1993. Her work has appeared in various formats. Her first play, The Plexiglass Box won two awards at the Quebec Drama Festival of One Act plays, and a creative nonfiction piece was shortlisted for the James H. Gray Award. In 2014, Guernica Editions published her first book, Loddy-Dah, which landed on the syllabus for first year university students in the Women’s Literature class at Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, Connecticut. She is also a visual artist having studied under Phillip Surrey at Sir George Williams in Montreal and has exhibited at various venues. Writing is her first love.
