COURSE DESCRIPTION:
“Creative Flow and The Writer’s Voice”
In this class we will explore a series of artistic and fun disciplines, and then observe the fascinating directions these activities take our writing.
Movement, breathing, meditation, drama games, yoga and vocal exploration will lead toward our goals of increased confidence, awareness, and creativity.
Also included is a text-driven musical soundscape performance geared toward listening, community and team building.
BIO
David Wilson (B.Mus, M.Mus) is a Singer, Conductor, Voice Teacher, Yoga Instructor, Breath Therapist, and soon-to-be-author. In Edmonton, David has conducted the Richard Eaton Singers, Kokopelli, Vocal Alchemy, the Edmonton Recorder Orchestra, My Fair Lady, Dream King, Mikado, and most recently, RENT. As a singer he has been singing in the Edmonton Opera Chorus since 2006, and in 2011 performed “Cinderella’s Prince” and “The Wolf” in Elope’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. He has taught at Opera Nuova and Concordia High School, leads workshops all over western Canada, and currently teaches voice with Edmonton Musical Theatre and Grant MacEwan University. He is currently working on two books: The Wilson Technique of Singing, and Body Breath & Voice Integrative Therapy, and a DVD, Yoga for Singers. His website is here.
