Call: Experimental Writing by Women by Caitlynn Cummings
Recently, a study by CWILA (Canadian Women in the Literary Arts) found that of all book reviews published in select Canadian magazines during 2011, fewer than 30% featured female-authored books. Obviously, this is a disturbing trend of underrepresentation on a systemic level. In response, we here at filling Station are pleased to announce that we are now open to submissions for an upcoming themed issue – Experimental Writing by Women – to be published in late 2013! We’re seeking the very best experimental fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and art by women authors and artists. To be considered, submissions must be received before February 15th and must conform to filling Station’s basic submission guidelines. Reviews of recent experimental publications by women authors will also be considered. Please send electronic submissions complete with a short bio and mailing address directly to the appropriate editor (Fiction, Poetry, Nonfiction, or Art) with fS EXPERIMENTAL WOMEN ISSUE in the subject line. If submitting electronically is impossible, please mail hard copy submissions to:
