Announcing the 2019 Banff Retreat Writers in Residence

We are happy to announce the Writers in Residence for our annual Banff Retreat, February 15 – 24, 2019 at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Alison Pick and Wayne Arthurson will be joining us at Banff Centre to provide manuscript consultations, advice about the writing life, and group activities.

Alison Pick is the author of the novels Strangers with the Same Dream and Far to Go, which was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. Her memoir Between Gods won the Canadian Jewish Book Award and was a finalist for the BC Award for Non-Fiction and a Globe and Mail Best Book of 2014. She won the 2002 Bronwen Wallace Award for most promising writer under 35 in Canada. Alison Pick lives in Toronto.

 

 

Wayne Arthurson is an Edmonton-based novelist and journalist of Cree and French Canadian descent, the author of the five novels, five books of non-fiction and numerous articles in a wide variety of publications. His novels include the award-winning Leo Desroches series, which won the 2012 Alberta Readers’ Choice Award in 2012 for Fall From Grace. Other novels include A Killing Winter, Blood Red Summer, The Traitors of Camp 133 and Final Season. He was the Writer in Residence for the Edmonton Public Library for 2016.
